MSEA UniServ Directors UniServ representatives assist in contract negotiations. After collective bargaining agreements are reached, many of their responsibilities are in contract enforcement - making sure that school boards live up to the letter and the sprit of the negotiated agreements.
They work closely with the MSEA Center for Legal Issues and serve as advocates for education employees threatened with suits or unjust administrative actions.
If you feel you are being treated unfairly or are called into a meeting with an administrator that could result in discipline call the CCEA/CASE office and ask for Cheryl McLeod or Dan Chambers: WHAT TO DO UNTIL HELP ARRIVES: » DON’T RESIGN » DON’T RESPOND TO ANY CHARGES » DON’T SIGN ANYTHING UNDER PRESSURE. Politely indicate you need time to seek advice » REQUEST REASONS » GET IT IN WRITING » Request that the meeting be adjourned until you can have your Association UniServ DIRECTOR present » CONTACT CCEA OR MSEA, ASAP! REMEMBER: CCEA is in the business of protecting your rights. DON’T TRY TO GO IT ALONE!!! Dan Chambers at Extension 12 is assigned to handle CCEA issues Cheryl McLeod at Extension 15 is assigned to handle CASE issues Either one can assist you when you have an issue. If you have an emergency, let the staff answering the phone know and you will be connected with someone who can help you. Dave Anderson, Assistant UniServ Director is in charge of CCEA/CASE activities. He plans our bus trips, excursions, etc. He can be reached at the CCEA office or thru email at drander@k12.carr.org On July 1, 2009, CCEA and CASE said farewell to our long-time, dedicated UniServ Director Hal Fox. We wish Hal many happy and prosperous years as he starts his well deserved retired life.
